However, Quinton de Kock, who was blamed for not converting starts into big scores in the earlier two matches, scored a fluent 60 runs( six fours and two sixes) before getting dismissed by Mohammed Shami. The South African left-handed batsman was the main reason for keeping Mumbai Indians momentum going in their favour as he scored 41 runs in just 24 balls after the powerplay phase.
Kings XI Punjab came back strongly in the game there-after by taking crucial wickets in a short span of time and kept the run-rate under their control. But just as he did in MI last game, Hardik Pandya ensured that they finish on the high note and keep the momentum in their way. Hardik Pandya 19 ball 31 lifted Mumbai Indians to 176 runs in their 20 overs.

However, Kings XI Punjab didn’t lose any wicket in that phase which was a great positive in the run-chase. And indeed the same happened, with Gayle hitting two consecutive sixes to Hardik Pandya after the powerplay shifted the momentum to a distinct direction in their favour.
Despite Krunal Pandya dismiss the destructive Chris Gayle at 40, it was Mayank Agarwal who took the charge as an attacker. He shower a stunning innings of 43 runs of just 21 balls and made a crucial 64 runs partnership with KL Rahul. It was a mere formality thereafter as Kl Rahul get passed away from the though time and took the charge upon himself by leading Kings XI Punjab to a convincing win with eight wickets to spare.
